Fix: Hunt Showdown Easy Anti Cheat Error

When it comes to the easy anti-cheat error on the PC during opening any video game, it seems that either the Easy Anti Cheat system is corrupted or uninstalled due to some unexpected reasons. Additionally, conflicts with the third-party applications, issues with the game launching as admin access, issues with the overlay applications, Windows security software-related blocking, etc can cause it.

Whereas an outdated game version, an outdated Windows build, corrupted or missing game files on the system, etc can also trigger the Easy Anti Cheat error on your computer while launching the Hunt: Showdown title. Luckily, here we’ve managed to share with you a couple of possible workarounds that should come in handy. Now, without wasting any more time, let’s jump into it.

1. Reboot the Game and PC

First of all, you can try rebooting the Hunt Showdown game as well as the gaming device manually to refresh the system glitch, etc. Though some of the players might not get benefitted, you should try it once.

2. Run Hunt Showdown as Administrator

Make sure to run the game app file on your PC as administrator access to allow the User Account Control (UAC) access to the system. In some cases, your system requires the UAC access permission to run a program which is quite important. By following the steps below you’ll have to allow the admin access for once and it won’t ask you for the same again. To do so:

Go to the installed Hunt Showdown game directory.

Right-click on the application file on your PC.

Click on Properties > Click on the Compatibility tab.

Click on the Run this program as an administrator checkbox to enable it.
Once done, click on Apply and then OK to save changes.
Finally, just double-click on the game app file to launch it.
If in case, you’re running the game via the Steam client then perform the same steps for the respective game client too.

3. Check for Hunt Showdown Updates
You can manually check for the game update by following the steps below to ensure the game is not outdated. An outdated game version can cause launching issues, server connectivity issues, and more.

Open Steam and go to Library.

Click on Hunt Showdown from the left pane.

Steam will automatically search for the available update.

If there is an update available, click on Update.

Make sure to wait for some time until the update completes.

Once done, ensure to reboot the PC to apply changes.

4. Verify and Repair Game Files

Sometimes corrupted or missing game files on the PC might also trouble you a lot when it comes to the installation or updating of the game. You really can’t do anything for the issue to happen. But most of the game launchers do come with a built-in option to verify and repair the game files automatically that you can use whenever you face any kind of issues. To do this:

Launch Steam > Click on Library.

Right-click on Hunt Showdown from the list of installed games.

Now, click on Properties > Go to Local Files.

Click on Verify Integrity of Game Files.

You’ll have to wait for the process until it gets completed.

Once done, just restart your computer.

5. Check for Windows Updates

If you’re running an outdated Windows version or build number for a while then make sure to follow the steps below to check for the same. Always try to install the latest update of the system so that you can get the latest security patch, improved performance, bug fixes, additional features, and more.

Press the Win+I keys to open Settings.

Click on Windows Update > Click on Check for updates.

If there is an update available, click on Download and Install.

Wait for the update process to be completed.

Once done, reboot your PC to apply changes.
